Hamilton soldier dead after shooting at War Memorial in Ottawa

A Hamilton soldier
standing guard at the National War Memorial was gunned down Wednesday
morning, cabinet minister Jason Kenney has confirmed.
“Condolences to family
of the soldier killed, & prayers for the Parliamentary guard
wounded,” Kenney, the minister of employment, said on Twitter just
before 1 p.m.
“Canada will not be terrorized or intimidated.”
MP John Williamson of
New Brunswick Southwest said a moment of silence followed the
confirmation to the government caucus of the death of a Canadian Forces
soldier.
The Star has not been able to independently confirm the information.
